Philips has just announced specifications of four of its new models belonging to Xenium 9@9/9x9 series. These models include 9@9f, 9@9g, 9@9t and 9@9s. Each of these models has a different design and features. The bottom line of this series is that all mobile phones will have a talk time of about 8.5 hours and a standby time of 30 days! This means that you won't even remember that the cell phone needed to be charged.
Specifications
Xenium 9@9s is a clamshell mobile. The cell phone supports GSM and GPRS (900/1800/1900 MHz). The main display has a resolution of 80x48 and has 262k colors. The product supports MIDI and AMR polyphonic ringtones. There is also a 1.3 megapixel camera. The mobile's memory is reported as 18 MB. All of these facilities are powered by a 950 mAh battery.Design of 9@9f and 9@9g is a bit similar, but they have different features. 9@9f offers 65K colors whereas 9@9g has 256K colors. 9@9f does not have a camera, but 9@9g has a 3 MP camera with video recording and flash facility. Both of these cell phones have WAP 2.0 and xHTML browser for internet surfing. The 9x9 series is set to release in the first quarter of 2007.
Pros and Cons
The Xenium 9x9 does not offer any cutting edge technologies, but is major strength is its marathon battery life. If you are a shutter bug and want to use your cell phone as an entertainment center, than this cell phone is definitely not recommended for you.
