Nokia 6131 is a clamshell phone. Size of the mobile is 92 x 48 x 20 mm. weight is 102g it also includes the weight of battery. Phone is available in two colors black and silver. The key pad of the phone looks nice and is easy to use.

Review

6131 is different form the traditional style of Nokia series because Nokia mostly captured market through candy bar shape mobiles. Nokia launched this mobile for competing with Motorola and Samsung cell phones with a flip.

On front side of 6131 there is a screen which is used as CLI and clock. On the left hand side of the phone there is button for opening the flip, where as on right side there are buttons for volume and camera. A camera is also present on the front side. Internal screen is excellent; it can display upto16 million colors. Nokia 6131 was the first Nokia mobile phone to offer this feature. Key pad is also marvelous and user friendly.

The camera of 6131 is only 1.3 MP, not so impressive and personally I think it is not satisfying the current market needs. There is no flash in the cell phone either. Despite of these problems there are different options and modes in both video and still photography which make 6131 really impressive.

Nokia 6131 has an mp3 player in which you can play your favorite songs. The cell phone got 11 MB internal memory with an external memory of 128 MB which is a part of the package. Depending on consumer's usage memory can be expanded up to 2GB. The phones also had FM radio and push to talk features. A stereo headset is also supplied with the mobile phone.

The battery life of 6131 is 249 hours and talk time is 3 hours and 20 minutes. Mostly users complain about the short battery time of this phone, so Nokia should have to concentrate on this issue.

Pros and Cons

The first problem in Nokia 6131 is its battery life. Secondly, there is no protective glass or coat on the internal screen. Therefore the screens can get damaged easily. I don't know what is the basic strategy of Nokia behind this is but this sounds so annoying. If you don't consider these issues then we can say that this the best clamshell phone of Nokia series
