Mehndi is a form of skin decoration. It is very popular in South Asia, especially in Pakistan and India. Mehndi is mostly done on hands and feet, because here its gives the darkest color. Mehndi is usually applied to hands through cone or paint brush. After applying it is left it for a night and then removed. The final color is reddish brown and it will be there on your hands for weeks or even months, depending upon the quality of Mehndi.
Mehndi mostly use in wedding functions. In South Asia a wedding function is also called "Mehndi". In this event bride and her friends decorate themselves with Mehndi on their hands, forearms and feet and sing different songs regarding the Mehndi festival.
Mehndi also got popular in West in late 90s, but as compared to Asia it is not that much popular. In South Asia it is a necessary part of life. Every festival is incomplete without Mehndi. Now in a month "Eid-ul-Fitar" is coming so I am sharing some of my Mehndi designs, hope you like them. Apply them on Eid and enjoy the festival with full excitement.
